Nancy O'Dell's debut job in the broadcast industry was as a reporter/anchor at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She later became a morning news anchor and crime report at WCBD TV. The stories she reported in Charleston regarding the police's tolerance in DUI cases, prompted the State Law Enforcement Division to look into the matter. It led to states authorities enforcing more rigorous guidelines in these cases. Ms. O'Dell was awarded the Best Report of the Media Award in South Carolina by the Associated Press. In the years following her stay living in Charleston, O'Dell worked as anchor for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and also as an investigative journalist. She then was hired by Access Hollywood to work as an anchor on weekends and weekdays. O'Dell, as well as being the lead anchor for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC.
